    If you want to retain your priority date your I 140 should be approved from your old employer, else you need to start from scratch again.

    Can i leave the employer while i-140 is pending.....???If emplyer assures me that he won't revoke the i-140...???

    I would like to move to another job at the same time i would like to take some benift(PD) from the GC process i have been through so far.

    ANy suggestions are much appreciated...

    Hi, I was in India when my husband applied for my H1B in 2008. I got it picked in lottery and got the approval too. I came to US on H4. After Oct 1st 2008, we applied for Change of Status to H4 to legally complete the work permit process. In the Change of Status applicatin form, my company accidently did a mistake of mentioning that Current status=H1B, New status required=H1B. :mad: USICIS, on seeing the application, took a decision to give me H4 with new I-94. I tried calling the USCIS helpdesk, but in vain. :confused:

    1) Now what should I do to start working in H1B?
    2) Was I correct in ging throughChange of Status? Or could I start working with the approval copy I had?
    3) Could I apply for SSN with the 2008 approval copy?

    Any answers would be greatly apprrciated!. Thanks in advance........

    In my opinion I think we should get the news guys into this and get the information out there about the irresponsibility with which they have mismanaged the whole process. Such kind of problems usually grab headlines when it happens with US citizens.

    I think we need to be heard. Imagine, insurance companies violating makes news, social security makes news, airport security regulations and mismanagement makes news _ WHY CANT THIS? THIS IS SO CRUEL. HOW MANY HOURS, MONEY, EFFORT HAS GONE DOWN THE DRAIN? CAN WE NOT GET SOME NEWS CHANNEL TO COVER THIS? SOMEONE TO SPEAK TO A JOURNALIST ABOUT HOW AWFUL IT HAS BEEN????

    THIS HAS ALL THE ELEMENTS OF PAIN, AGONY, AND DECEIT. Please comment. Only when we do this, will we get the EB numbers to get increased. Only then , the lawmakers will get up and smell the coffee. LEGAL IMMIGRANTS AND WHAT DO WE GET AFTER OBEYING THE LAW? MISMANAGEMENT THROWN AT OUR FACE.

    Hi

    I am planning to go to India for emergency purpose. I have valid stampped H1B visa till Jan'2012 with my previous employer X. Now I have been working for new employer Y since Jun'2009. I have got approved 797 and have all paystubs since then. Do I need to go for visa stamping in India with new 797 or I should be able to enter US with my previous company's stampped visa?

    Any quick reply is very much appreciated.

    Hi All,

    I am applying my Labor on EB2 tomorrow (07/26/2007). Is there any glim chacne for me to get the approval before 08/14/2007? I am going through Atlanta. Please let me know how long is the average time to get the cetification from atlanta center. (One of my friend applied on 07/17/07 and got the LC on 07/23/07 from atlanta center).

    You could take a look at Track it. It will give you an idea of Atlanta backlogs . You could have a very good chance at Chicago though . Your friend was one in a million lucky and you could be one too .

    Hi All,

    How important is the location of the US embassy for getting the H1B visa stamping ? When applying for my H1B petition in April 2008, my lawyer had mentioned that I would be going to the US embassy in Germany for the H1B visa interview. I'm also aware that I could go to my home country for doing the same. However, does anyone know if I can go to Canada/Mexico, given that I have the visas to go to these countries ? I have a US H4 visa.

    Hi All:

    Usually I check status of my case online using USCIS website. I got the following error what does this mean?. I got the same mssage few months back and after day or two it was alright.

    Validation Error(s)
    You must correct the following error(s) before proceeding:

    Login failed. Your User ID and/or Password are invalid.

    Multiple duplicate SRs already exist for the customer

    It sounds like they have multiple SR's on my case.

    1) What does this mean?.
    2) or Did any one got same kind of error?.

    On Nov 8th, Senator Lieberman and 18 of his Senate colleagues, wrote to Michael Chertoff (Homeland Security Secretary) to extend 12 months opt to 29 months exercising his authority.

    On Nov 11th, NAFSA President Johnson also wrote to Secretary Chertoff to make this change, endorsing above request.


    But so for nothing further has come out.

    Hi

    I got laid-off in Jan'09 and was not able to get a job. I returned back to India on 01-May-2009. I would like to come back to US since the economy is coming-up. Below is my situation:

    Filed I-485 and it is in Pending status (Priority Date is May-2007). I-140 approved in Jan 2008.
    Renewed EAD which is valid till July 2010. But AP got expired by 15-July-2009.
    6 years of H1B expired by 31-May-2009.

    1. What are my options now to come back to US?
    2. When can I file for my new H1B? I heard there should be 1 year gap between H1B.
    3. Will I be considered in regular quota OR I will get H1B on previously held quota?

    Your suggestion will greatly help. Appreciate it.

    As far as I know it does not matter what company profile is, it only matters what type of job they have and if they able to pay as required for the period of time they apply for.

    Hey guys, I was wondering what program you guys use to view RAW files from your Sony (Alpha 200 in my case)?

    I am particularly interested in a viewer where I can scroll throw a folder of images quickly full scree, using the arrow keys on the keyboard, possibly with an option to zoom in 100% and also possibly where I can easily delete the image with a press of the Delete button. You guys know of any freebie utility viewer like that? I tried MaxView from Faststone but it does not seem to display the pic in high quality. Thanks.

    Company A filed my PERM in Sep 2008 showing 5 yrs job experience as of April 2005 .

    I joined Company B citing 6 yrs job experience as of Dec 2009 due to various reasons.
    Joined Company B in Dec 2009 and have H1b valid till April 2011 which is when my 6 year period ends.


    My issues are:

    1. If Company B files for my 7th year extension using the pending PERM, will the job experience discrepancy pose any problems ?

    2. Does Company B have to know all the details in my pending PERM or just the case number to use it?

    3. What is the earliest Company B can apply for 7th year extension?

    What is Image Croping? U need to understand that! The area which you will select will give you the x y co-ordinates which should be fed into the LockBit method this method will retutn a pointer. Yes the code will be unsafe but it will work i did it. Now Use the scan0 property then increment the pointer [0] for green [1] for blue [2] red and copy to any another file which will become your new croped image. I can provide you the source code snippet but why dont u try for urself first thats how people lear not by spoon feeding. Try a bit googling with search string as Simple Dialation Using C#. Have fun i had too.

    Hey folks who signed up for advocacy days: I am so proud of you! You signed up for the good of all of us. I heard some of you are not confirming your participation. This cannot be an option at this point!

    After all the effort IV has put in in securing the appointments, I, V, We all are counting on you. You had the best intentions when you signed up and we appreciate that, now we need you to finish grad school without being a drop out.

    Many hundreds of hours have gone into organizing this event and not having folks at a meeting that has been confirmed is bad PR for IV and disappointing, sad and frustrating for the people who have been working tirelessly. Can't have it, can't tolerate it. You guys must follow through on your commitment!!!!

    PM me if you have some pressing issue and maybe we can muster up some help to pull you through..
