Hello,

Does anyone know if a H1B can be transferred from a University to a company? Has anyone gone through this process?

The present h1 position comes under university (non-profit) category. You cannot transfer your H1 to a company which falls under profitable category. You need to apply for a new H1 which falls under cap.

Hi - I am currently on an L1 blanket visa and it looks like my company will sell the unit I work for in the US. The parent company will sell the US division - I am currently in the process of applying for my GC - with the I40, and I485 both pending. I had my biometrics done today.

Want to gain some views on what my options are if the GC route does not pan out. I am on a UK passport, and would like to remain in the states. The GC is an employment based application - which is apparently quick, but I want to have a plan B. Is the next best option the H1B, and if so, will I be able to apply for this (if needs be) inside the US with another company if they are prepared to take me on?

everyone here talks abt geting GC asap.. even though most of us are swearin at the USCIS/DOS whtevr, deep down we all want GCs. but after thi sJuly VB, do u have faith/trust in the system now? assume that they accept our application and what if they give out GCs 2-3 yrsfrom now, what makes u think they cant come back and say it was a mistake and u have to give ur GC back?

If they can do what they did today, and get away with it, they can do anything. its no differnet from Telgi scam/Laloo gobar/chara scam, so many scams in india. they get away once, they get away again. the middle class/average/educated tax payers like us suffer.

I am thinking of applying for 485 right now, and 5 months later for my wife. Do the dates have to current when I apply for my wife. or it does not matter. Has any one done this where they applied for 485 when dates were current but for spouse at a latter date when the dates were backlogged again.

Hi all!

I'm currently working on a personal project of mine (word processor) and there are a few things i cannot seem to get my head around and i think that they are very simple to do too...Maybe... First, I'm trying to open a new instance of my program by simply clicking a menu option on my form. i'm using visual c# 08 express edition, windows forms application... I have attached an image (very small image) to show u what i mean.. i'd appreciate anyone's help/advice on this, thanks for reading :-)

My Receipt date for 485 is july 27th 2007 and nebraska is processing applications for this date.

I applied for cross chargeability on 10th March.. Any idea how long before my case is approved? My lawyer has confirmed that its possible and he claims that it should take 4-8 weeks. I wanted to check to see what the experience of people has been so far?

I am currently on L2 visa with EAD and working for a company as direct employee. My wife is in L1. Both of our visas,I-94 and my EAD are valid till OCT-2010.

My wife has to go back to India as her current project is over.

My question is can a L2 visa holder with EAD stay back and continue working in U.S.A, after L1 has left the country ?.

Any information regarding this is highly appreciated.

Hello gang! I have a quick question! Has anyone had issues with the prevailing wage being too low? The attorneys requested the prevailing wage from the SWA and it came back really high twice, so they then submitted a private wage survey that my company conducted with a reputable firm and it was rejected. The attorneys have said that they will now appeal the case directly to DOL. Has anyone had to go through this? If so, how long does appealing to DOL take? And, any info on success rate with the appeals to DOL?

Any info would be extremely appreciated! Thanks in advance guys!! :)
