I am confused about receipt date?
Notice date is when the receipt notice is generated- That's simple
Is receipt date the date when they do data entry into the system or is it the date when they receive the package even though they may do data entry a month later?
In other words people who filed there application on July 2nd,3rd etc ... and lets say USCIS takes 2 months to receipt those cases.. then after 2 months when the notice is generated won't it have a July 2nd receipt date? for July 2 filers?

No dear friend...what if you are already inside this country and waiting for 10 years. Even if you become a manager in these companies, you wont be eligible as you had to have at least one year outside the country. So progressing not going to help. How about a person who is less qualified, less experienced getting GC in six months when you wait for 5-10 years. Its not about jealous, its about fairness and justice. Dont bring in EB2-EB3 here. We are all in this sh*&t togather.
At the end of the day what matters is you have an option open via this route. It is your personal choice if you would rather wait here 10 years or work in your home country for 1 year. Why shut a door that's meant for you? Opportunity is very hard to come by

I got my CA DL after moving from Missouri 4 years ago. they only ask for my out of state DL and SSN card. luckily my SSN card doesnt contain the "valid for work ..." stuff, only my name and ss number. I renewed my DL this year and got 5 years renewal by just showing only my DL to DMV...
Howz DL procedure in CA for 485 guys? I do not have H1B any my I-94 expired long time back. I have out of state licensce that expires in 2011 only. If I want to take CA DL, will it be a easy process? For how many years they give DL for 485 guys?

The original word is "enactment date", which would be the date the bill is signed into law. The effective date will be oct, 2008.
So people who didn't get their 140 through before the president signs the bill would be screwed?
You are not really screwed if (a big if) somehow you get a chance to file for I-485.

Bodran, pl file your I-140 and your & sons I-485 immediatly..I am sure your I-140 will NOT take 2 years (as you are in EB3 ROW) to approve by which your son will be protected before he turns to be 21.
So, hurry up & file I-140/I485 ASAP and your son will be safe under CSPA (Child Status Protection Act). Also, pl read CSPA rule..I remember it was published on Feb 14, 2003...pl check..

I saw your post last night and have some changes in mind for the NSC letter. But right now I'm working on having the 7001 piece out from my employer - hope others are doing that as well.

Just a thought that there are other anti immigrant groups also visiting our website. We are frustrated and angry but all these comments that we are writing are also read by other people and will be used against us to make things harder. Also the general feeling is that American people dont really care or want to understand about GC. For them especially groups like NumberUSA etc want us out.
