This might be just a way from DOS to USCIS to say bring their house in order... do not advance dates until you know the what the accurate demand is.....

That item also indicated that if the CIS projections proved to be incorrect, it would be necessary to adjust the cut-off dates during the final quarter of FY-2008. The CIS estimates have proven to be very high resulting in: 1) the �unavailability� of all Employment Third preference categories beginning in July, 2) the �unavailability� of numbers for China and India Employment Second preference adjustment of status cases during September, and 3) the establishment of many October Employment cut-off dates which are earlier than those which applied during FY-2008.
Little if any forward movement of the cut-off dates in most Employment categories is likely until the extent of the CIS backlog of old priority dates can be determined.

I am glad to see sked A here. I have been following this forum for a long time now and there is nothing for healthcare prof though the discussions were very helpful. As I can see it, the july VB put benefits on those going through AOS but as a result those whom I know who are scheduled for interview in their home countries in AUg. was cancelled.
That is sad news!! I can just imagine how they feel, after waiting so long! Anyway lets hope something positive happens for the Oct bulletin.
A hospital I know is SO short of nurses they are offering them GREAT incentives to take on extra shifts. I mean it is an ACUTE shortage.

One my friends got his wife's AP approved by scheduling an appointment with local InfoPass office. but you need a valid reason and proof for that. In his case he got his father in law's medical certificate from India.

When your friend went for INFOPASS, did he get a single copy of the AP, or two copies of the AP ?
I want to know if there is a difference between getting APs through mail or INFOPASS.

In continuation to my posting from the previous thread (http://immigrationvoice.org/forum/showthread.php?t=20598), I have made some changes to the draft letter based on the comments received from few members. Now I have two versions of the same letters, one for TSC petitioners and other for NSC petitioners. This letter addresses the delay in processing of I-140 petitions at TSC & NSC.
Here are guidelines to mail this letter (pick the letter that corresponds the service center where your I-140 is pending):
1. Please review the corrected draft letters and post any constructive comments on this thread to make it more effective. You can do so until 08/07/2008 (August 7th 2008)
2. Based on the comments and suggestions received, I'll post the final version of the letter to be mailed on this thread on 08/08/2008 (August 8th 2008)
3. Members can then copy/paste the letter onto a word document and then along with completed DHS Form 7001, mail the documents to USCIS Ombudsman's office early next week(08/11/2008 through 08/15/2008). Please note that this form needs to get your employers signature ( or whoever is the petitioner) as we are checking on an I-140 petition.
4. You can find DHS Form 7001 at http://www.dhs.gov/ximgtn/programs/editorial_0497.shtm
5. Please make sure, you provide complete and correct information on this form to be mailed to Ombudsman's office. All forms with incomplete and fake names will be ignored by the Ombudsman's office. So please provide the correct information to the Ombudsman's office for them to investigate this issue.
6. Once all the forms and letters reaches the USCIS Ombudsman's office they will need atleast 4 weeks to look into this problem and send you a response. They are obligated to send you a response, since you sent them a completed Form 7001 inquiring about your case.
7. Please post the responses you receive from Ombudsman's office on this thread. Based on the responses we receive, we can compile the responses and then take the next course of action with IV core's guidance.
Please feel free to post any questions or clarifications you need before mailing this letter.

It really becomes ridiculous. You are totally mistaking the purpose of the CIR. It
s not a policy bill, it's a bill about tweaking the existing policy. Giving everyone a priority date based on his/her date of the arrival to the states is to admit that H1b visa is an immigrant visa, which is not. Don't push an envelope too hard, it might backfire in the most unusual way.
I think you have hit the nail on the head. We are on a roller coaster ride and we need to cool our heels. The two amendments to help ease retrogression are already in two of the senator�s bills. Let's push that on through. We can later on use our imaginations to solve any �bigger" immigration issues.

got FHA loan on EAD..... My EAD was is expiring in July.... So they were skeptical... I showed them FHA guideline.... showed old EAD and all previous 797s.... they approved 30 Fixed FHA.....

here is the IRS link which says all non resident aliens will not receive the check, irrespective if they have a SSN or not. Last I knew every H1 is a non-resident alien.

Now, the fool is trying to change the subject by asking ppl to join the rally. Why in the world wud ppl trust him? So are you judging all of India's education by the IIT's? I didn't graduate from IIT and so didn't 99.9% of Indian IT people.
I can tell you for a fact that Universities in America are much better than those in India. This is why I came here and I went to an average university here which I could afford.
What Professor-ji said in the video was that Indians were successful DESPITE the poor education they received in India. India is becoming a world superpower in research and development DESPITE this. I believe this is true. Indians know how to compete and will be world leaders because they work hard and think smart.
Lets not fool ourselves at least!! We need to learn to accept the truth.

Hello, I have been through the same situation for past 2 years. Just carry your receipt for extension to the local MVC and they will give you 3-month extension on your licence. During that course, your actual extension should arrive upon which you will have to renew your licence. It's better to spend $24 for licence renewal that spending $1000 for premium processing.
My H1 extension is under process. I had applied in Dec 2006. My DL expires on May 6. Is it possible to renew my license with the H1 extension receipt?. Is it possible to do Premium Processing now?

I am in a bind now, appreciate any advice,
I am planning on using my EAD to switch to another job in a couple of months. Meanwhile I have booked tickets for May 26th to send my son to India for the summer. He has H4 stamped in his passport valid till 2010.
My question is
**Can my son come back on H4 even though I use my EAD to change jobs ?
**Does he need to have advance parole ? Even if I apply for AP tomorrow, chances are very slim that he will get it before he leaves on May 26th.

If you switch Jobs, and you don't have your H1B transfered to the new employer this means your H1B is not valid. No your son can not entry the country on H4 he must use AP. But if you continue to work full time on H1B and work part time on EAD with another employer then he can come on H4.
