You need to chill out dude. I do not see anything wrong. Whats wrong in analyzing and preparing yourself for future. I have plans to travel in 3 months.After looking at this thread I think it might take few more months. I think this is a valuable thread.
Preparing for future is one thing but if you think that this is a valuable thread then go with it and enjoy, i just find it disheartening that people are trying to undermine whatever has been achieved by such threads (Like i said, he might be completely right but is there a need to tell it this way) and what are you going to prepare for the future ;) Do you know it ? (If you do, please keep it to yourself and enjoy or cry about it). Adjudication means the process of an adjudicator going thro' your file to see whether you are eligible for adjustment!
Here pre-adjudication means irrespective whether the PD is current or not or availabilty of visa numbers the adjudication process continues.
In other words even though visa numbers are "U" till October they would not simply warm their seats but do something !

Please file for SSNs quoting this stimulus package and get the refund. If someone tries and SSA refuses, we can take it up with legislators or even pursue litigation.
I am the person who originally compiled the information. I am in the process of appealing the first SSA denial and I am in touch with my local congresswoman about this. If you want to get involved, please let me know. Also, I recommend that everyone contacts his or her congressman/congresswoman even if you are not directly affected. Most legislators are not even aware of how this rule affects people. We need to stop groups like FAIR from pushing through more legislation that discriminates against immigrants.
Finally, if the SSA denies my appeal, I am planning to file with the federal appeals court. Any ideas on how to go about this are appreciated.

Hi All,
How much time total process takes I think case by case. In my case it took around a year( from request to sponsor Eb2 to I-140 approval (premium processing). I had no perm auditing. I had no RFE on I-140. I filed my EB2 with the same employer.

Sens. Schumer and Hutchison have offered the Bridge amendment. The amendment has been withdrawn but that doesn't necessarily mean that it is permanently withdrawn. According to www.shusterman.com It has a chanse to pass in September, just after the summer recess.
I believe all our efforts should be concentraited on this legislation!
Core Team, we badly need your advise, how can we help, what should we do in order to lobby this ammendment? It might be difficult because the majority of Schedule A professionals are still outside the US..... There in US we have only our lawers, who seems to me are not willing or can help us.

That is a wonderful proposal and should be given due weight. Despite the early arrival, an individual may not filed his/her GC due to several reasons. Most commonly found / heard are
1. Company closures/ Layoffs / Transfer to different state
2. Employer / attorney delay and / or fraud in filing GC
3. Delays in processing Labor in certain states / backlog centers
This proposal seems a ray of hope for people in the above category. God bless Rajeev74 and all. Let this be heard and got attention at the policy level.

1 point we should make to the lawmakers is to make an administraive change to give 3 years extensions and abolish 1 year extensions. As 1 year extensions are not suffecient a very solid case can be presented for that case.
1) Driver license, lit of state doesn't give DLs if you have less than 1 year left on Visa
2) H1B Extension is taking 4-6 months
3) No Visa stamping in U.S.
The problem are just too many we need a proper channel to raise our voice to them

I understand that the visa allotment process is constrained by the laws passed by the Congress, USCIS should also understand that applicants from retrogressed countries that have spent significant years of their careers waiting without any indication or guidelines as to when their dates will be current. I am sure everyone will understand the futility of waiting in a line where your position keeps increasing or decreasing every month with no end in sight.
It will help us make concrete long term decisions if you could provide the following information for the retrogressed countries.
-- number of pending EB1, EB 3 and EB 2 AOS cases per year for retrogressed countries from 1999-2008.
-- number of unallocated EB visas from 1996-2007

Taking SS Tax and Medicare tax from non -immigrants is injustice. Americans will not tolerate injustice. You must understand employment visas, like H1B are non-immigrant visas. That alone should make Uncle Sam stop collecting SS Tax and Medicare. If any trial lawyer does a class action law suit or what we call a Public Interest Litigation, the US government should be in lot trouble. Because no one is questioning, they are passing on. I was also told by a SWA high official, that there is a provision, that you can opt out of deduction of SS Tax and Medicare, if you are on H1.
I want to focus on core IV goals. I will not post any further on this SS Tax issue. But, my last word is: dual intent is dangerous and applicants will be denied visa and entry into US. So, readers be careful. You have a non-immigrant visa.

WILL I QUALIFY FOR A VISA?
In order to qualify for most categories of U.S. non-immigrant visas, you must be able to demonstrate to a U.S. Consular Officer that you have a permanent residence outside the United States that you do not intend to abandon.
